Solo show at Public Record November 2020. Building from my practice in weaving and tapestry, the objects displayed here were inspired by the colour and texture found in natural materials: wool, silk, wood, cotton and natural dyes: indigo, quebracho and madder gold foil. Often starting with leftovers from previous weaves, I work intuitively, responding to the sensual qualities that emerge. My thoughts and mood become a meditation that manifest my subconscious. If I am feeling excited and inspired about the direction of the work I will carry on, follow its lead, navigating with instinct. The works offered at Public Record at this time express a state of being, feeling and sensing. Guided by thoughts of creating a beautiful life, these objects manifest the tranquil and progressive future that awaits us all if we thoughtfully bring it into existence.
